Danny D. Gotto

Danny is Executive Director of the Uganda-based Innovations for Development (I4DEV). He has a medical background and oversees community and public policy advocacy, PHC service delivery, research and documentation, and social activism and, as a member of the PHM-Uganda chapter, has been at the fore front of advocacy for health, for the expansion of the CHW program in Uganda, and for the improvement of rural health worker incentives. He has campaigned on addressing colonialism’s impact in Uganda’s health sector, including through the role of international agencies, INGOs and other development actors and is building a movement of activists to decolonise the health sector and move people in Africa from being spectators in global affairs.
