Mahmuda Alam
Mahmuda is a Bangladeshi architect with eleven years of experience in community architecture (especially in housing and settlement planning). She earned her bachelor's in Architecture from Brac University, Bangladesh, and master's degree in 'Architecture and Planning beyond Sustainability' from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. Her interest is in creating climate-resilient communities through space planning and design interventions. Together with like-minded professionals, she created the Platform of Community Action and Architecture (POCAA), a network that invites professionals and communities to work together for settlement and city development. POCAA is also closely associated with Asian regional networks, the Asian Coalition for Housing Rights (ACHR), and the Community Architects' Network (CAN). Between 2021-2024, She worked as a consultant for UNWFP, InterAction and UNDP Bangladesh.
