“If your roof is poor, the quality of life under the roof is poor.” Hasit Ganatra, Inventor ModRoof
Hasit Ganatra is a social entrepreneur who invented a lightweight, low-cost, modular roof that protects residents from the effects of extreme heat and rain and can be moved if necessary. His team used an iterative, human-centered design approach (HCD) to test various materials and structures, then they piloted the “Modroof” in Ahmedabad and made design modifications based on input from local women.
